Mark Slaby

Mark Slaby is a recognized and results-driven business leader, investor, and philanthropist.  As an entrepreneur he successfully founded, financed, operated, and sold businesses in the aggregate mining and commercial real estate markets. Mark’s career started in the 1990s with a start-up technology company that was later acquired by IBM.  He continues to invest in entrepreneurial technology focused companies which also incorporate social entrepreneurial interests.

Mark recognizes that success is rooted in the values of hard work, focused commitment, and compassion. To this end, Mark and The Slaby Foundation focus their philanthropic efforts on educational and medical advancements programs. Mark brings a unique perspective and empathy to community challenges along with the leadership skills and relationship development capabilities to deliver results that provide communities with common sense solutions to their challenges.

Mark is the founder of the Illinois Patriot Education Fund which raises scholarship funds on behalf of the spouses and children of Illinois military servicemen and women who have given their lives or been disabled in service of our Country.  This fund also support the education of active duty members of our Armed Services beyond the benefits offered in the Post- 9/11 GI Bill.  Mark is not paid for his efforts, and considers the time he dedicates to the Illinois Patriot Education Fund service to his country.

Mark sits on the board and is an advisor to a number of local, state and national business and charitable organizations. Mark received his B.S. in Marketing from Indiana University.

 

Amanda Cecil, PhD, CMP-  Indiana University

Dr. Amanda Cecil is a professor with the Tourism, Convention and Event Management’s faculty at Indiana University in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Amanda teaches courses in meeting/event management and international tourism. Additionally, Dr. Cecil is the chair of the TCEM study aboard program, provides students service learning opportunities, and conducts research in event, cultural, and sport tourism.

Her industry involvement includes 2007-2008 President of the Indiana Chapter of Meeting Professionals International (MPI), an appointed chair of the MPI international 2009-2010 Body of Knowledge Task Force, and the 2007 chair and current member of the Professional Convention Management Association’s (PCMA) faculty task force.  Dr. Cecil was awarded the 2006-2007 “PCMA Educator of the Year” and named to the Indiana Chapter of MPI’s Hall of Fame in 2008.

 

Robert D Wynkoop – Commissioner, Indiana Department of Administration

In June 2010, was  appointed by Governor Daniels as the Commissioner for the Indiana Department of Administration(IDOA). In this position he is responsible for the overall operation of many of state government’s day to day functions.  IDOA is a 200+ employee state agency that manages:  Statewide Procurement, Statewide Public Works, Facilities Management, Fleet Services and Minority and Women’s Business Enterprise. IDOA’s annual budget is $175M.

Prior to being named Commissioner,  he served as the Deputy Commissioner for the Procurement Division at IDOA.  He led a team that spent five years streamlining the state’s approach to the purchasing of goods and services.  As a result of their work, the State of Indiana has saved over $100 million in taxpayer dollars by buying smarter and working closer with vendor partners.

Prior to joining state government, Mr. Wynkoop was a senior account executive covering major healthcare accounts for the IBM Corporation.  He has also held served as a staff member to former US Senator Dan Coats and as IT Director for the Lugar for President campaign.

Additionally, he has a passion for working with at-risk young men.  He has spent the past several years as a lay coach for the varsity and middle school football teams at two inner-city schools in Indianapolis.  He sees football as a vehicle to reach young men and work with them to maximize their opportunities after high school.

Mr. Wynkoop holds a BA in Business Administration from Taylor University as well as an MS in Information and Communication Sciences from Ball State University.

 

Monte Curnutt

Monte Curnutt is currently the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the United States Hospital Point of Care business of Roche Diagnostics.  In this role, he is responsible for managing the direction of the business and overseeing the sales and marketing strategy and execution.  Prior to this role, Monte held a variety of  positions in Strategy and Finance over his previous 9 years working at Roche, gaining experience in developing and implementing new business models and establishing and monitoring key metrics to drive improved business performance.  Prior to Roche, Monte spent five years at Price Waterhouse leading teams in the audits of financial statements for multi-national manufacturers, local financial services companies and not-for-profit organizations.

Monte has a passion to help those that can not help themselves through philanthropic organizations that empower them to make real changes in their lives, both spiritually and physically.  He also serves as a volunteer personal financial consultant through the Crown Financial Ministries program at his home church.

Monte is a Certified Public Accountant and received his B.S. in Finance and Accounting from Indiana University.  He is currently pursuing his MBA in Entrepreneurship and Marketing from the Kelley School of Business.
